Safe at Camp 4 + audio from Bianca

May 20, 2026 By Fiona Adler 24 Comments

Bianca has messaged to say that she’s back at camp 4 now.

She said she feels pretty bad though.

On the summit and climbing up, I felt amazing, but coming down is tough. I felt like i needed to be so much more cautious and it was a lot of work clipping around people. Also the part from the South Summit to the summit is really technical at parts – much more than the rocks before the South Summit. There were a dozen or so people there at that time so it was pretty tough getting around them whilst staying clipped in.

She is now resting at camp 4, but planning to start climbing down to camp 2 later.

Audio file of Bianca talking after getting back to camp 4.

Back to Basecamp and now in Kathmandu
Heading down, plus the summit radio call

It’s been tough and now it’s still very tough on the descent apparently…but you have an amazing capacity to handle it. Truly inspirational.

At least her Instagram is updating, and the tracker shows her location in Kathmandu. I suspect she’s currently undergoing a bit of a “recovery period”; after all, reaching the summit wasn’t easy for her.

There is some strange posturing here; one minute you are supportive, the next you are criticising her for not thanking her Sherpa, next minute begging for updates. I hope you are OK!

Anyway, such good news re her summit. I’m sure everyone wishing her well and good recovery 🥰

Hi, I'm Bianca!

Hi, I’m Bianca

I’m 18 years old from Melbourne, Australia and I am on a quest to become the youngest Australian to summit Mt Everest!

The expedition will take about 2 months, stretching from April to the start of June. I will be climbing alongside my father, Paul, who has already climbed Everest in 2007. My mother, Fiona has also summited Everest in 2006, and she will support us from base camp on the second half of the climb. I will try to post almost everyday of my expedition, to share the journey—the highs, the lows, and everything in between—as I take on the biggest challenge of my life!

If you have any questions about the climb, or the preparation, make sure to pop them in at the bottom of the post, and I’ll try to reply as fast as I can!

Xx
