Bianca’s perspective – day 2 at camp 4, my summit attempt

June 7, 2025 By Bianca Adler 3 Comments

Hi there, I’m still at camp 4 now. It’s the 22nd of May.

We were supposed to leave last night but it was too windy and we will go tonight. Feeling pretty ok so far, and really really making sure I eat a lot today.

I had some tea already, and some porridge. I just made myself a protein shake which really filled me up but I got it down.

I’ve pretty much just been chilling and doing nothing in my tent all day because everything is so hard. The tent got nice and warm so I could take off the jacket part of my down suit and nap in my sunny warm tent. I already have everything packed and ready so I don’t really have much to do.

It’s pretty boring up here but there is absolutely nothing I want to do, nor is there anything that I could easily do. This is a bit TMI but I went to the toilet today, and that was a huge effort and hopefully I won’t have to do that again up here.

Leaving for real now, in a couple of hours at about 6:30pm. Feeling less nervous than last night and actually quite excited. It’s still windy, but I told my Sherpas that I want to leave my tent regardless of the wind and only turn around if it gets too dangerous.

present Bianca: I have ZERO photos from this day

This is how i got messages from Mum and close friends when I was high up

Hi, I'm Bianca!

Hi, I’m Bianca

I’m 18 years old from Melbourne, Australia and I am on a quest to become the youngest Australian to summit Mt Everest!

The expedition will take about 2 months, stretching from April to the start of June. I will be climbing alongside my father, Paul, who has already climbed Everest in 2007. My mother, Fiona has also summited Everest in 2006, and she will support us from base camp on the second half of the climb. I will try to post almost everyday of my expedition, to share the journey—the highs, the lows, and everything in between—as I take on the biggest challenge of my life!

If you have any questions about the climb, or the preparation, make sure to pop them in at the bottom of the post, and I’ll try to reply as fast as I can!

Xx
