Day 36 – oxygen training

May 13, 2026 By Bianca Adler 2 Comments

I went down to breakfast, ate the same food that we do most days, and waited for our big event of the day: oxygen training! Some other climbers came into our dining tent and we listened to a sherpa (I forgot his name) giving us a briefing about the oxygen. He went over the … [Read more...] about Day 36 – oxygen training

Day 35 – waiting

May 12, 2026 By Bianca Adler 3 Comments

I had the best sleep ever!! In the last 3-4 months of my Everest training, my sleep schedule was so messed up. Training so intensively, alongside balancing school is exhausting and affected my sleep too. So it feels amazing to be able to sleep properly here! I slept through … [Read more...] about Day 35 – waiting

Everest day 34 – more rest

May 10, 2026 By Bianca Adler 10 Comments

I woke up, went to breakfast - the usual everyday! I then went to my tent, chillaxed for a bit, then headed to the coffee tent. I did some more schoolwork in there, and mum had to help me with some maths! We all went to lunch at 1pm, same old same old. Then I went back to … [Read more...] about Everest day 34 – more rest

Everest day 33 – getting some rest!

May 10, 2026 By Bianca Adler 7 Comments

I had the absolute best slumber ever!! Climbing in the night is safe, but it really messes with your sleep schedule! It had snowed quite a bit last night, and it was pretty cold this morning. It’s a bit of a hit or miss whether we get sun here or not. I headed over to … [Read more...] about Everest day 33 – getting some rest!

Everest day 32 – Back to base camp

May 9, 2026 By Bianca Adler 8 Comments

I woke up at 1:30am (I was soooo nervous I wouldn’t wake up from the alarm), activated my chemical hand warmers, and packed up my sleeping bag and mat. Dad and I are leaving a lot of gear in camp 2, such as sleeping bags (we have 2 each, 1 for base camp and 1 for up high), mats, … [Read more...] about Everest day 32 – Back to base camp

Hi, I'm Bianca!

Hi, I’m Bianca

I’m 18 years old from Melbourne, Australia and I am on a quest to become the youngest Australian to summit Mt Everest!

The expedition will take about 2 months, stretching from April to the start of June. I will be climbing alongside my father, Paul, who has already climbed Everest in 2007. My mother, Fiona has also summited Everest in 2006, and she will support us from base camp on the second half of the climb. I will try to post almost everyday of my expedition, to share the journey—the highs, the lows, and everything in between—as I take on the biggest challenge of my life!

If you have any questions about the climb, or the preparation, make sure to pop them in at the bottom of the post, and I’ll try to reply as fast as I can!

Xx
