EVEREST SUMMIT DAY (descent)

June 9, 2026 By Bianca Adler 7 Comments

Standing on the summit of Everest, the main thing I could think about was coming down. I had only reached halfway (even less than halfway actually!). I had so far to go, including the tricky rocks that start almost immediately from the summit. I hugged Kris goodbye, who left as I … [Read more...] about EVEREST SUMMIT DAY (descent)

EVEREST SUMMIT DAY! (Uphill)

June 7, 2026 By Bianca Adler 9 Comments

Sorry it’s taken me so long to write/finish this blog! I woke up from camp 4, along with Pemba and Ngudu. It was starting to get colder so I put all of my layers back on. We then had to make more water, and eat a shared dehydrated meal. I organised my gear and checked off … [Read more...] about EVEREST SUMMIT DAY! (Uphill)

Everest day 43 – camp 3 to camp 4!

May 27, 2026 By Bianca Adler 4 Comments

This is definitely the second hardest day of the climb, after the summit day. That being said, last year it was my favourite climbing day! We climb from 7100m, to 8000m, which is a huge amount of elevation gain at such high altitudes. Last year I had left early, at 4am and it … [Read more...] about Everest day 43 – camp 3 to camp 4!

Everest day 42 – Camp 2 to camp 3

May 27, 2026 By Bianca Adler Leave a Comment

(writing this from camp 4, 8000m because I forgot to yesterday at c3) After experiencing the heat going from c1-2 we knew that we needed to leave early because it is the same Western Cwm that is half of the route to c3 from c2. So we woke up at 5:30am for a 6:00am breakfast. … [Read more...] about Everest day 42 – Camp 2 to camp 3

Day 41 – rest day in camp 2

May 17, 2026 By Bianca Adler 4 Comments

I woke up at 8am or so, and got out of our small tent for breakfast. We ate porridge and eggs on toast, and met up with friends from base camp who had just climbed up from base camp. I really tried a lot to drink a heap of water today, so I chugged some at breaky. I laid … [Read more...] about Day 41 – rest day in camp 2

Hi, I'm Bianca!

Hi, I’m Bianca

I’m 18 years old from Melbourne, Australia and I am on a quest to become the youngest Australian to summit Mt Everest!

The expedition will take about 2 months, stretching from April to the start of June. I will be climbing alongside my father, Paul, who has already climbed Everest in 2007. My mother, Fiona has also summited Everest in 2006, and she will support us from base camp on the second half of the climb. I will try to post almost everyday of my expedition, to share the journey—the highs, the lows, and everything in between—as I take on the biggest challenge of my life!

If you have any questions about the climb, or the preparation, make sure to pop them in at the bottom of the post, and I’ll try to reply as fast as I can!

Xx
